'Paruthiveeran', 'Mozhi' top Tamil cinema charts
Mumbai News.Net Monday 5th March, 2007 (IANS)
No debutant actor in recent times has received the kind of response that Karthi has got with the Ameer directed 'Paruthiveeran'. The film has had an amazing opening.
The top five Tamil films are:
1. 'Paruthiveeran' - Director: Ameer. It was after a lot of hiccups that the film finally saw the light of day. And it had a fantastic opening. Newcomer Karthi has more reason to smile with rave reviews for his compelling performance.
2. 'Mozhi' - Director: Radhamohan. This film heralds a new beginning in Tamil cinema. You rarely see such a realistic film with believable characters in Tamil movies.
3. 'Pachaikili Muthucharam' - Director Gautham Menon. 'Pachaikili...' is pushed to the third place because of the two good films that were released last week. But it is doing very well in all the A centres.
4. 'Pokkiri' - Director: Prabhu Deva. Vijay's 'Pokkiri' still gets its audience. It is the first super hit of 2007.
5. 'Thiruvilayadal Arambham' - Director: Bhoopathy Pandian. Finally, after a long gap, Dhanush gets a successful release. Email this story to a friend
