Mumbai News.Net Monday 8th February, 2010 (IANS)
A 32-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping off from the second floor of her house in Paschim Vihar area of west Delhi after she heard the news of her husband's death, the police said Monday.
The incident took place Saturday when Veena saw the body of her husband Ajay, who died in an accident while going to his office.
'Ajay left home for work Saturday morning on his motorcycle. When he was near Nihal Vihar area, a speeding tempo rammed into his motorcycle from behind. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead,' a senior police officer said.
'When his body was taken home, Veena fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness, she went to the second floor and jumped off from it. She was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to the injuries on the way,' the police officer added.
'Veena and Ajay were from Rohtak, Haryana. They were living at the place with their seven-year-old son Abhishek. Both worked with private companies. Their bodies have been handed over to their family,' the officer further said. Email this story to a friend
