DHAKA, Bangladesh - A group of people attacked a young woman at Narsingdi Railway Station for wearing an obscene outfit.
The incident happened early Wednesday morning, and a video went viral on social media on Thursday.
ATM Musa, the stationmaster, said the young woman and two young men arrived at the station around 11 a.m. on a train from Dhaka.
Another woman began hurling insults at the young woman from Dhaka because of her attire. At one point, the woman and some "unruly" young men attacked the three visitors.
The victims sought refuge in the stationmaster's room before fleeing. The stationmaster had no idea where they had gone.
Imayedul Jahedi, chief of the station's police camp, stated that the incident was being investigated and the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
Police were unable to identify either the victims or the attackers.
A woman and some young men appear to assault the young woman in the video while one of her fellow passengers tries to save her.
The young woman flees and seeks refuge in the stationmaster's room with the assistance of others. Someone else closes the gate.
